Overall Career
Leslie Grant Nunamaker was born on January 25, 1889, in Aurora, Nebraska. Nunamaker was 22 years old when he broke into the big leagues on April 28, 1911, with the Boston Red Sox.
Nunamaker had a 12-year career as a catcher. In 716 games, he batted .268 with 533 hits, 2 HR and 216 RBI. His best season was 1916, when he hit .296 with career highs of 14 doubles and 25 runs scored. After being traded to the Browns in 1918, he spent the rest of his career as a backup. After his major league career he continued in baseball in the Michigan League and Chatanooga Tennessee.
