Overall Career
Kelvim Escobar is a pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He started his career with the Toronto Blue Jays as a starter in 1997. He started for the Jays until becoming their full time closer in 2001. After a 38 save season in 2002, he switched back to the rotation for 2003, before hitting free agency and signing with the Angels as a starter for the 2004 season. In 2007 he set his career high in wins with 18.

He is a power pitcher, with a 97 mph fastball and a good changeup, mixing in other pitches as well (curve, split, and especially slider).
2007 Season and Playoffs
Dominant for most of the 2007 season, he struggled down the stretch, posting starts of 2.2, 5.1, 5.2, 4, and 6 in his last 5 starts. During the 2007 season, he posted an 18-7 record with a 3.40 ERA (127 ERA+) and a 1.267 WHIP.
He is currently scheduled to pitch Game 2 of the 2007 ALDS, opposed by Daisuke Matsuzaka.
