Overall Career
Jorge Alberto de la Rosa Gonzalez (born April 5, 1981 in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico), is best known to Red Sox fans as one of the players (along with Casey Fossum, Brandon Lyon, and Micheal Goss) sent to Arizona in exchange for RHP Curt Schilling. De La Rosa had been pitching fairly well between AA Portland and AAA Pawtucket, and was considered by most to be the best prospect in the trade.
Since then, he has moved to Milwaukee and, most recently, Kansas City. in 102.2 Major Leauge innings, De La Rosa has accumulated a 5-8 record with a 6.39 ERA. Walks, which were always a concern for Jorge in the minors, have been a real problem in the major leauges; he has 80 walks to go with 85 K's.
