Joseph Francis "Dody" Cicero was born on November 18, 1910, in Atlantic City, NJ. Cicero was 18 years old when he broke into the big leagues on September 20, 1929, with the Boston Red Sox. Cicero had a 3-year career as an outfielder. In 4- games he batted .222 with 0 HR and 8 RBI.
He spent the majority of his career in the minor leagues, 18 years. He led every minor league he played in in stolen bases at one itme or another. He played winter league baseball in Panama until 1952, and was a scout for Brooklyn in 1953-54.
