Overall Career

Jeffrey Lee Russell (born September 2, 1961 in Cincinnati, OH), began his career with the Cincinnati Reds as a starter. And remained a starter in his career till 1989, starting 79 games in his career. Russell is best known from his days with the Texas Rangers. Jeff was a very good reliever for the Rangers. Russell had 2 seasons of sub 2 era's in MLB (1989, 1992).

Jeff's time with the Boston Red Sox was a brief time. However, in 1993 he was a very valuable closer for the team. Russell saved 33 games in 93 and had a 2.70 ERA.

Russell ended his career in 1996 back with the Texas Rangers. He had a 3.75 career ERA, 56 wins, and 186 saves.
