Overall Career
Jason Sekany was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the second round of the 1996 amateur draft. In 1997, he split his time between Michigan of the Midwest League and Sarasota of the Florida State League, putting up stats of 5-6 4.08 ERA and 4-4 5.57 ERA, respectively. In 1998, Sekany was promoted to the AA Trenton Thunder where he went 10-10 with a 5.21 ERA. The 1999 and 2000 seasons were equally as unimpressive for Sekany as he bounced around Trenton and Pawtucket. Sekany was claimed by the Cincinatti Reds off waivers who optioned him to Class AA Chattanooga. Sekany had gone 3-3 with a 5.47 ERA in seven starts and 10 relief appearances for the Paw Sox. Sekany topped off his career in 2001 for Pawtucket and Trenton, posting ERAs of 8.62 and 6.07, respectively.
Sekany is currenty a "Master Instructor" for The Pitching Center, a baseball specific training center in Pleasanton, CA.
