Giambi's Moment in the Sun

Jason Giambi's moment came on December 2nd, 2004. Arriving on many doorsteps that morning was an article from the San Francisco Chronicle revealing the often sweaty Jason Giambi had taken performance enhancing drugs. Giambi allegedly told the Grand Jury that he often took Human Growth Hormone, or HGH, and injected it. "No, you wouldn't," Giambi said. "You'd put it in your ass."

There were troubles ahead for Giambi in New York. In 2004 Giambi struggled with a Pituitary tumor for most of the season and hit a dismal .208 with a career low 12 home runs. Yankee fans were calling for his outright release and his contract voided. Giambi was a cheater and unwanted, until he started performing well again. It seems most New York fans no longer have problems with Giambi and many are currently campaining for him to be MVP.
