Jared Lawrence Sandberg (born March 2, 1978 in Olympia, Washington) played first and third base for the Portland Sea Dogs in 2005.

Overall Career
Drafted by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 16th round of the 1996 amateur draft, Sandberg made his major league debut for the Rays in 2001. He had his best season in 2002 when he hit .229/.305/.444 with 18 home runs and 54 RBI.
After spending a season with Tampa Bay's Triple-A Durham club in 2004, and failing to make the Washington Nationals out of spring training, Sandberg was signed by the Boston Red Sox and assigned to Double-A Portland on March 26, 2005. In 130 games for Portland, Sandberg hit .233 with 29 doubles and a team high 18 home runs. His performance earned him a selection to the Eastern League All-Star Game.
In 2006, Sandberg split time between the Houston Astros and Cleveland Indians organizations along with a brief stint with the Indepedent League Somerset Patriots.
Sandberg signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers on December 22, 2006, but was released during spring training because of a rib injury. The Kansas City Royals signed him to a minor league contract on June 6, 2007 and assigned him to Double-A Wichita. In 18 games at Wichita, Sandberg hit .103./218/.147 in 68 at-bats. He was released on July 2.
In three major league seaons, Sandberg has hit .221/.297/.406 with 25 home runs and 92 RBI in 630 at-bats.

- June 11, 2002: While playing for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays Sandberg hits two home runs in the fifth inning in a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The homers travel 414 feet to left and 407 feet to left-center. Both come on first pitches up in the strike zone. [1]
