James O'Neal Lofton (born March 6, 1974 in Los Angeles, California) was a career minor leaguer who appeared in 8 games for the Boston Red Sox in 2001.

Overall Career
Selected in the 13th round of the 1993 draft by the Cincinnati Reds, Lofton toiled in Cincinnati's minor-league system before signing to play independent ball for the Tri-City Posse in 1998.
The Boston Red Sox purchased Lofton's contract from the Sonoma County Crushers on June 1, 2001. He made his major league debut on September 19 pinch-hitting for Lou Merloni in a 12-2 blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. In 8 games with Boston, Lofton notched 5 hits in 26 at-bats with 1 run scored, 1 double, 2 stolen bases and 1 RBI. After a brief stint in the Orioles farm system, Lofton returned to Independent leagues in 2006 with the Nashua Pride.
