Overall Career
John Peter Thielman was born on May 20, 1879, in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Thielman was 25 years old when he broke into the big leagues on April 23, 1905, with the St. Louis Cardinals.
As a rookie in 1905, Thielman led the sixth-place Cardinals in wins with 15, but he was returned to the minors the next season. He had a winning record with Cleveland two years later, completing all of his 18 starts. His younger brother Henry lost 12 straight for the 1902 Reds. Thielman had a 4-year career as primarily a right handed pitcher. He finished with 30 wins, 158 Ks, and a 3.16 ERA in 475.1 IP.
