Overall Career
Ivy Paul "Poison" Andrews was born on May 6, 1907, in Dora, Alabama. Andrews was 24 years old when he broke into the big leagues on August 15, 1931, with the New York Yankees. Andrews had an 8-year career as a right handed pitcher. He finished with a record of 50-59, 257 Ks and a 4.14 ERA in 1041.0 innings. At the plate he batted .185 with 0 HR and 29 RBI in 319 at-bats.
His best year was 13-7 in 1935 with the seventh-place Browns. After his playing days, he worked as a carpenter.

- Was the starter and winning pitcher in a 7-0 exhibition game shutout of the crosstown Boston Braves on April 8, 1933.
- Appeared in the 1937 World Series with the Yankees.
