Summary: Impossible Dreams is an anthology of writings – news, editorials, poems – of the Red Sox since 1901. Editor Glenn Stout started this compilation over 20 years ago when he started combing the old newspapers and microfiche collections at the Boston Public Library. Each definitive era has an introduction by Stout – the Yawkeys and the “impossible dream” years of 1967 – 1989. There is even a poem to Spaceman Bill Lee. And after we were all hit by a Mack truck a few years ago, this book sheds light on that other series with a certain New York team in 1978.
