The High Desert Mavericks are a Minor League Baseball team in Adelanto, California, affiliated with the Seattle Mariners. They are a "high-A" class team in the California League.

Franchise History

The Mavericks play home games at Stater Bros. Stadium; opened in 1991, the park seats 3,808 fans. It was called Mavericks Stadium before being renamed at the start of the 2006 season. Prior to moving to Adelanto, the team was located in Riverside, California and was known as the Red Wave from 1988 to 1990.

In the past they have also been affiliated with the Kansas City Royals, Milwaukee Brewers, Arizona Diamondbacks, Baltimore Orioles, Florida Marlins, and San Diego Padres.

Trivia

  • Their championship in 1993, while affiliated with the Florida Marlins, was the Mavs' 3rd year of existence, and the Marlins' first. Thus, they became the first Marlins farm team to win a championship. The same scenario happened with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 1997. The Mavericks actually won a championship before the D'backs even existed.
  • The team's single-game attendance record is 5,804, on Independence Day of 2004.
