Herbert Harrison Hunter was born on December 25, 1895, in Boston, MA. Hunter was 20 years old when he broke into the big leagues on April 29, 1916, with the New York Giants.
Hunter had a 4-year career as a back-up third baseman. In 39 total games, he batted. 163 with 1 HR and 4 RBI.
