Henri Richard Stanley is an outfielder that will forever be remembered by Red Sox fans as the player sent to the Los Angeles Dodgers for Dave Roberts at the 2004 trade deadline. He is currently playing for the Somerset Patriots of the independent Atlantic League.

Overall Career

Signed as a nondrafted free agent by the Houston Astros in 2000, Stanley is a career minor leaguer. His best season came in 2002 while playing for the Round Rock Express, Houston's Double-A affiliate, where he hit .314/.408/.542 with 16 home runs, 26 doubles and 72 RBI. His standout performance earned him a Double-A All Star selection.

After being claimed off waivers by the San Diego Padres in 2003, Stanley was traded to the Boston Red Sox on May 15, 2004 for minor league first baseman Brett Bonvechio. Stanley appeared in 51 games for Pawtucket before being traded at the trade deadline for Dodgers outfielder Dave Roberts.

Stanley spent a year and a half with the Dodgers’ Triple-A affiliate in Las Vegas before signing with the Independent League Somerset Patriots on June 22, 2006.
