Red Sox and Hazleton
The Red Sox made their first foray into the minor league affiliation game in 1932 with two teams. Hazleton was one of them, and would start the Red Sox affiliation with the league now called the Eastern League, an affiliation that has lasted for 74 of the past 75 years.
The affiliation would last for only one season, as the Red Sox would move to Reading for the 1933 season. They would return to Hazleton a few years later.
