Career
- Was signed as an International FA in June 2002. Throws in the mid-90's and started his minor league career for the GCL Red Sox in 2003. Pitched 33.1 innings for the GCL Sox and in 2004, Baseball America named him the GCL league's 12th best prospect. He was graduated to Short-Season Lowell the following season where he strugled and posted a 5.16 ERA. His final season in the Red Sox organization was in 2005 for Single-A Greenville where he posted very good strikeout numbers and a 2.01 ERA in 44.2 innings.
- In the following offseason he was traded to Florida along with SS Hanley Ramirez, SP Anibal Sanchez and P Jesus Delgado for all-star SP Josh Beckett, 3B Mike Lowell and MR Guillermo Mota. Since joining the Florida organization he put up great numbers again for High-A Jupiter, posting 83 strikeouts and a 2.92 ERA in 64.2 innings. In the 2007 minor league season he has struggled with the upper levels, still posting solid strikeout numbers with 25 in 24.1 innings but struggling with his control. He was promoted to AAA and has since struggled with a 6.27 ERA through 37.1 innings.
