Overall Career
Harry Clayton Harper was born on April 24, 1895, in Hackensack, NJ. Harper was 18 years old when he broke into the big leagues on June 27, 1913, with the Washington Senators.
Harper had a 10-year career as a left handed pitcher. He finished with a 57-76 record, 623 Ks and a 2.87 ERA in 1,256 innings. Harper spent seven years with the luckless Senators, with a 6-21 record in 1919 to lead the AL in losses. He later made a fortune as a New Jersey industrialist.
