Overall Career
Harold James "Whitey" Wiltse was born on August 6, 1903, in Clay City, Illinois. Wiltse was 22 years old when he broke into the big leagues on April 13, 1926, with the Boston Red Sox.
Wiltse had a 4-year career as a left handed pitcher. He finished with a 20-40 record, 134 Ks and a 4.87 ERA in 500.1 innings. He compiled an 18-33 record with the Red Sox in 1926-27, but calcium deposits caused him arm problems and curtailed his use for the Phillies.
