Overall Career

Gregory Alan Maddux won more games than any other pitcher through the 1990s. He spent eleven seasons (1993-2003) as a member of the famed Atlanta Braves rotation of the 1990s, winning three consecutive Cy Young Awards with the team from 1993 to 1995. He won 194 games with the Braves, more than half his career total. He was drafted by the Cubs in 1984 and played for them from 1984 to 1992, returning for 2004 through the first half of 2006. He won his 300th game as a Cub in 2005. He was traded to the Dodgers for Cesar Izturis in 2006, then signed with the Padres at the end of the season. While not as effective as he had been in his best years with Atlanta, he remains an effective starter and a valuable mentor to the younger pitchers on his team.
