Red Sox and the Patriots
The Red Sox would switch leagues and cities in 1953, moving from the Piedmont League and the Roanoke Ro-Sox. It was the second of three stops in the city for the Red Sox organization... first playing in the early '40s (as the Greensboro Red Sox), and later affiliating with the Greensboro Hornets in the '80s.
The Red Sox would move to Raleigh, Virginia for the 1958 season.
