Overall Career
George Robert "Silent George" Stone was born on September 3, 1876, in Lost Nation, Iowa. Stone was 26 years old when he broke into the big leagues on April 20, 1903, with the Boston Red Sox.
Stone had a seven-year career as an outfielder. He played a total of 848 games where he batted .301 with 23 HR and 268 RBI. After his playing days, he owned the Lincoln Nebraka minor league team and became a minor league president.
