Overall Career
George Henry “Pea Soup” Dumont was born on November 13, 1895, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dumont was 19 years old when he broke into the big leagues on September 14, 1915, with the Washington Senators.
Dumont had a 5-year career as a right handed pitcher. He finished with a 10-23 record, 128 Ks and a 2.85 ERA in 347 innings. As a 19-year-old Washington rookie in 1915, Dumont threw successive two-hit shutouts and lost a 10-inning complete game to compile a 2-1 record. He never pitched that well again. In 1917, his only year as a regular starter, he was 5-14.
