Frederick Alfred Parent was born on November 25, 1875, in Biddeford, ME. Parent was 23 years old when he broke into the big leagues on July 14, 1899, with the St. Louis Perfectos.
Parent enjoyed a 12-year career in the big leagues. He was the starting SS on the 1903 Boston team that won the World Series. Parent was a solid hitter and fielder and denied three pitchers no-hitters when he got his club's only hits.
Career totals in 1327 games was a .2621 average, 20 HRs and 471 RBI.
