Frederick Oscar "Fritz" Bratschi was born on January 16, 1892, in Alliance, Ohio. Bratschi was 29 years old when he broke into the big leagues on July 24, 1921, with the Chicago White Sox.
Bratschi had a 3-year career as a back-up outfielder with the Red Sox and White Sox. In 89 games he batted .276 with 0 HR and 22 RBI. After his playing days, he was a service station owner.
