Frank Julian Arellanes was born on January 28, 1882, in Santa Cruz, CA. Arellanes was 26 years old when he broke into the big leagues on July 28, 1908, with the Boston Red Sox.
Arellanes was the replacement for Cy Young in the Red Sox pitching rotation in 1909. Arellanes had a 3-year career as a right handed pitcher. He finished his career with 24 wins, 148 Ks, and a 2.28 ERA in 409.2 IP.
Arellanes was a victim of the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918.
