Overview
The Fox Television Networks is currently the lead broadcaster of Major League Baseball - a position they have held since the 1997 season.
Fox airs games every Saturday from mid-May until the end of September. Fox also has exclusive rights to the All Star Game and The World Series. (Turner Broadcasting Network holds the rights to air the Divisional Series.) Fox also has semi-exclusive rights to the League Championship Series.
Fox airs games under the "regional" format - meaning that games are aired on an regional basis. IE: There is one "National" game which is aired in all markets that does not have a team within it's designated viewing area (or likewise markets that do have a team, but is not playing a game on said afternoon), likewise, markets that have teams playing on said afternoon will get the game featuring that team instead.
Most FOX Baseball broadcasts begin at 1:25pm or 4:10pm with a pregame show that begins either 25 minutes or 10 minutes prior to first pitch. The pregame show is currently hosted in Los Angeles by Jeanne Zelasko and former Sox manager Kevin Kennedy. Fox also airs select Friday night broadcasts, beginning at 8:25pm (In recent years these games have been almost always Boston Red Sox vs New York Yankees.)
Broadcasters
There have been many broadcasters for FOX over the years, however the primary FOX broadcasters have been Joe Buck and Tim McCarver. Beginning in 2006 they have been joined by The Sporting News' Ken Rosenthal, who serves as a sideline reporter.
Other regular broadcasters for FOX include Thom Brennaman, Josh Lewin, Kenny Albert, Steve Lyons, Jose Mota, Bob Brenly, and Lou Pinella.
