Rafael (Felo) Ramírez (b. ca. 1921) has been the Spanish-language voice of the Florida Marlins since the team's first season in 1993.

Broadcasting Biography

Ramírez was born in Bayamo, Cuba, and is known as "El Orgullo de Bayamo" (the Pride of Bayamo). His career began with Radio Salas in Havana, Cuba in 1945. He has been the play-by-play voice of professional baseball in Puerto Rico and Venezuela for over 30 years, calling action for the Caguas Natives, Santurce Crabs, San Juan Senators and Magallanes Navigators. He has also broadcast over 40 Caribbean World Series since 1949. He also worked with Buck Canel over three decades on the Gilette Cavalcade of Sports. He has broadcast dozens of World Series and All-Star Games in Spanish across Latin America.

Ramírez received the Ford C. Frick Award from the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2001. A longtime resident of Puerto Rico, he is a member of the Puerto Rican Sports Hall of Fame.
