Fausto Carmona
From SoSH
Young Cleveland Indians pitcher victimized by Sox walkoffs twice in 3 days. On July 31, 2006, David Ortiz crushed a 3-run homer in the bottom of the 9th to win 9-8, and 2 days later, Carmona implodes with 2 outs in the 9th and no one on. He hits Doug Mirabelli and Alex Gonzalez, before walking Kevin Youkilis. Mark Loretta then doubles to drive in 2 runs to give the Sox the win.
In 2007, in true Derek Lowe fashion, he has shockingly bounced back into a very good starting pitcher, leading to comparisons to established Tribe ace C.C. Sabathia. In fact, he got a shutout over the Sox on July 25.
