Overall Career
Elmer Albert "Moose" Eggert was born on January 29, 1902, in Rochester, NY. Eggert was 25 years old when he broke into the big leagues on April 27, 1927, with the Boston Red Sox. Eggert played in 5 games for the 1927 Red Sox, including one appearance at second base. In 4 plate appearances, Moose had 1 BB, 1 strikeout and no hits. October 1, 1927, would prove to be his final appearance in the major leagues.
Eggert also played for the 1932 Tulsa Oilers of the Western League in the Oilers' only year of existence, appearing in 99 games at third base and batting .309 with 78 walks, 20 doubles, 14 triples, and 4 home runs (in 346 at-bats).
Eggert died on April 9, 1971 in Rochester, NY, at the age of 69.
