Overall Career

Eddie Clarence Murray (born February 24, 1956, in Los Angeles, CA), had a career characterized by consistency, durability and dominance. One of baseball's most productive hitters from the late 1970s through the 1990s, Murray was the third player to have totaled both 3,000 hits and 500 home runs, joining Hank Aaron and Willie Mays. The all-time career RBI leader among switch-hitters, the three-time Gold Glove Award winner at first base was an eight-time All-Star and had six consecutive top-10 finishes in voting for the Most Valuable Player Award. Murray was a stalwart at first base for 12 seasons for the Orioles, capturing a world championship with Baltimore in 1983.
