Overall Career
Edward Cunningham “Kid” Foster was born on February 13, 1887, in Chicago, Illinois. Foster was 23 years old when he broke into the big leagues on April 14, 1910, with the New York Highlanders.
Foster had a 13-year career as a third baseman. In 5652 games he batted .264 with 6 HR and 451 RBI. He ended his career in 1923 with just six homers in 3,278 at bats. Foster was also widely regarded as the best hit-and-run man of his day.
