Overall Career
Douglas John "Poco" Taitt was born on August 3, 1902, in Bay City, Michigan. Taitt was 25 years old when he broke into the big leagues on April 10, 1928, with the Boston Red Sox. Taitt had a 4-year career as an outfielder. In 258 games he batted .263 with 4 HR and 95 RBI. He also pitched for an inning and it went terribly, giving up 2 hits, 2 walks, and 3 ER. He died of Lou Gehrig's disease.
