Del Baker

Delmer David Baker took command of the Boston Red Sox managerial duties for only 7 games in 1960 (2 wins and 5 loses). Del replaced Billy Jurges mid-season on the Red Sox's way to ending the season 7th in the AL. At the time, he had not managed a baseball team since he headed the 1942 Detroit Tigers (where he was 417-355,.540 WP over 8 seasons). Del Baker died on September 11, 1973 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 81.
