Dave Jauss

Dave Jauss (b. January 16, 1957 in Chicago, IL), currently bench coach for Grady Little's Los Angeles Dodgers, served the Red Sox as major league advance scout from 2003-2005, director of player development in 2002, minor league field coordinator in 2000-2001, and bench coach from 1997 to 1999. He is credited with wanting to run on Mariano Rivera (The Steal), and on preparing the Sox for their dominating sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2004 World Series. (In a Peter Gammons column after the 2004 World Series sweep, Derek Lowe is quoted as saying "We can't give enough credit to the scouts who prepared us for St. Louis....We had a tremendous game plan."
Jauss earned a B.A. in psychology from Amherst College, and an M.S. in sports management from UMass. He is married with three sons.
