Overall Career
Darren Joel Lewis (born August 28, 1967), a.k.a "DLew" played all or parts of 13 major league seasons. He was primarily known as one of the premier defensive outfielders of the 1990's.
DLew played four seasons for the Boston Red Sox, 1998-2001. In 468 games for the Red Sox, he compiled a .256 batting average, 60 doubles, and 65 stolen bases. In 455 games in the outfield for Boston, Lewis made only eight errors.
In one of Jimy Williams's many foolish decisions, Lewis pinch-ran for DH Manny Ramirez in the late innings of a 2001 season-opening loss to the Baltimore Orioles and was allowed to bat in the DH spot for the remainder of the game while Dante Bichette and Jose Offerman rotted on the bench with runners in scoring position.
DLew's Moment in the Sun
In Boston's dramatic come-from-behind victory over the Cleveland Indians in the 1999 ALDS, DLew, appearing in four games, went 6 for 16 (.375) with a .412 OBP, 5 runs and 2 RBI.
Awards

Trivia
- Played a Major League Record 392 games without an error. Errorless streak ended on June 30, 1994 when DLew, playing for the Giants, allowed Montreal Expos OF Cliff Floyd's single to skip under his glove. This was Lewis's first error in 938 chances in the majors.
- Dusty Baker, who managed Lewis while with the Giants, named his son after him. Said child was later nearly killed at home plate during the 2002 World Series.
- Lent his name to the greatest SoSH poster ever.
