The idea that the acquisition of Alex Rodriguez can effectively destroy a team.

Seattle:
A-Rod's final year = 91 W and 71 L
After A-Rod = 116 W and 46 L

Texas:
A-Rod's final year = 71 W and 91 L
After A-Rod = 89 W and 73 L

Yankees:
The year before A-Rod arrived, they went to the World Series (though they lost in 6 games to the Florida Marlins and future Red Sox pitcher Josh Beckett).
In 2004, the year A-Rod came to the team, the Yankees were up 3-0 in the ALCS before the Red Sox performed the Greatest Comeback in Baseball History and went on to win the World Series.
