Clarence John Winters was born on September 7, 1898, in Detroit, MI. Winters was 25 years old when he broke into the big leagues on August 28, 1924, with the Boston Red Sox.
Winters' only year in the majors was in 1924 with the Red Sox. He batted .333 in 3 at bats, and had a 0-1 pitching record and a 20.57 ERA in 7.0 innings. After his playing days, he worked for the Ford Motor Company in the Tool Crib.
