Overall Career
Charles William Chech was born on April 27, 1878, in Madison, WI. Chech was 26 years old when he broke into the big leagues on April 14, 1905, with the Cincinnati Reds.
Using a puzzling curve and good control, Chech won a career-high 14 games as a rookie with the 1905 Reds. After Chech's best season, 1908 (11-7, 1.74), the Indians traded him to Boston. Overall, Chech had a 4-year career as a right handed pitcher. He finished with 33 wins, 187 Ks and a 2.52 ERA in 606.0 IP.
