Overall Career
Charles Louis "Sea Lion" Hall was born Carlos Clolo on July 27, 1885, in Ventura, CA. Hall was 21 years old when he broke into the big leagues on July 12, 1906, with the Cincinnati Reds.
Hall had a 9-year career as a right handed relief pitcher. He finished with 54 wins, 427 Ks and a 3.09 ERA in 909.2 IP. Hall was one of the first pitchers to specialize in relief, and started only 81 games in 188 appearances. Hall pitched in Fenway Park's opener in 1912 in relief of Buck O'Brien, a game which the Red Sox won, 7-6, against the New York Yankees. He led the AL with six relief wins for Boston in both 1910 and 1912.
