Chad Ashley Harville (born September 16, 1976 in Selmer, Tennessee) appeared in 8 games for the Red Sox in 2005. He is currently a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks organization.

Overall Career

A second-round pick by the Oakland Athletics in 1997, Harville appeared in 42 games for the A's between 1999-2004 before being traded to the Houston Astros.

Harville spent the bulk of 2005 as a member of the Astros, appearing in 37 games with a 0-2 record and 4.46 ERA in 38.1 innings. The Red Sox, desperate to upgrade a bullpen descimated by injury and ineffectiveness, claimed Harville off waivers on August 23. Harville appeared in 8 games down the stretch, compiling a 0-1 record with a 6.43 ERA in 7 innings pitched. The highlight of his brief stint came on September 25 when he pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to close out a 9-3 win at Baltimore.

On November 22, 2005, Harville was signed by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, but was later released on August 15. He signed a minor league contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks on January 20, 2007.
