Overall Career
Cedric Montgomery Durst was born on August 23, 1896, in Austin, Texas. Durst was 25 years old when he broke into the big leagues on May 30, 1922, with the St. Louis Browns. Durst had a 7-year career as an outfielder. In 481 games he batted .244 with 15 HR and 122 RBI.
Durst played in the 1927 World Series with the Browns, and the 1928 World Series with the Yankees. He played for the Pacific Coast League Padres from 1936 to 1941, and served as manager from 1939 to 1943. He still holds the record for most San Diego managerial victories at the professional level.
