2004 - Manny Ramirez

To win the World Series MVP, the first Red Sox player to ever do so, Ramirez batted .412 (7-for-17) with a homer, four RBIs and a run scored. He overcame the errors he made in left field on back-to-back plays in the eighth inning of Game 1 to throw out the tagging Larry Walker at home plate, ending the first inning of Game 3. 2007 - Mike Lowell

Lowell hit safely and scored a run in all four games, batting .400 with four RBIs and six runs scored. His home run in the seventh inning of Game 4 knocked Aaron Cook out of the game. Lowell also stole third in Game 3, despite only having 26 steals in his 10-year career.

  • Frank Viola - 1987 WS MVP with the Twins as a starting pitcher for games 1 (W),4 (L), & 7 (W). Played for Red Sox from 1992-1994.
  • Bret Saberhagen - 1985 WS MVP with the Royals (pitching two complete games, including a game 7 shutout). Played for the Red Sox 1997-2001, though missed all of 2000 and pitched only three games in 2001.
  • Bob Turley - 1958 WS MVP with the MFY. Played for the Red Sox 1963 at the end of his career.
