Case Lyman Patten was born on May 7, 1874, in Westport, NY. Patten was 26 years old when he broke into the big leagues on May 4, 1901, with the Washington Senators.
Patten had an eight-year career as a left-handed pitcher. He finished with 105 wins, 757 Ks and a 3.36 ERA in 2062.1 IP. Patten was the ace of the Senators from 1901 to 1907, averaging 15 wins and almost 300 innings per season.
