California Collegiate League
From SoSH
The California Collegiate League is a developmental baseball league designed to introduce amateur athletes to professional-style competition and atmosphere. It is one of the many summer Collegiate Baseball Leagues. Comprised of six member teams, the CCL is manned by college all-stars from across the nation who play under the rules of the American League of Major League Baseball, especially in the use of wood bats.

League Information
The California Collegiate League, a proud member of the National Baseball Congress, has been in existence (Formerly known as the California Premiere League and the California Coastal Collegiate League) since 1994 and has gone through several configurations. San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara are the only two remaining original members. The current membership of six teams is the most in league history while continued expansion is planned for the near future with several communities showing interest.
All players are amateur, with most still in college, and come from all parts of the country to compete and spend the summer in California. Many out of town players stay with host families during their time in the CCL, making the summer a truly community-oriented experience.
The CCL was one of the first summer collegiate leagues to adopt a wood bat only policy, a move which furthered its goal as a development league for future professional baseball talent and which was adopted nationally by other summer leagues and the National Baseball Congress itself.
Affiliation with the National Baseball Congress allows the first place team (and often the second place team) to qualify for the prestigious NBC World Series. For over 70 years the NBC World Series has taken place in Wichita, Kansas and features 42 teams from around the country and beyond vying for a coveted national championship.
The league is managed by President Bill Pintard and Directors Tim Golden and Pat Burns. League Headquarters are in Carpinteria, California, just south of Santa Barbara.
