Thomas Joseph "Buck" O'Brien was born on May 9, 1882, in Brockton, MA. O'Brien was 29 years old when he broke into the big leagues on September 9, 1911, with the Boston Red Sox.
O'Brien had a 3-year career as a right handed spitball pitcher. He finished with 29 wins, 204 Ks and a 2.63 ERA in 432 IP. O'Brien went 20-13 for Boston's 1912 World Champions.
