Overall Career

Apart from four innings in 1998 for Arizona and one inning in 2002 for the Dodgers, Corey bounced around the minor leagues until the Texas Rangers brought him up on June 10, 2006. He pitched 17.1 innings, allowing only five earned runs and holding left-handed hitters to a .377 OPS against. Nevertheless, the Rangers designated Corey for assignment on July 25, and traded him to the Red Sox on July 30 for Luis Mendoza.

He's played for the Detroit (twice), Arizona, Oakland, San Diego, Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, Florida, and Texas organizations before coming to the Red Sox.

Moment in the Sun

  • Hopefully, striking out Bobby Abreu in a key moment down the stretch in 2006.
