Amateur Career
Steinocher was a multi-sport star at Sacred Heart high school in Texas, earning all-state honors as a quarterback, before pursing baseball full-time at Texas A&M. Drafted out of Stephen F. Austin State, where he transferred as a junior, Steinocher won 3 games while striking out 75, in 102.1 innings pitched during the 2006 campaign.
