Boxing
From SoSH
Commonly referred to as "the sweet science," boxing spent the vast majority of the 20th century as one of the two most popular sports in American culture, rivaled only by baseball. As late as the 1970s, the Heavyweight Champion was considered by many to be the single most recognizable athlete in the world. However, over the last several decades, boxing has seen its popularity plummet, due to lack of organization, corruption, and the rise of leagues such as the NFL and NBA. The sport of boxing is also known for being populated by some of the shadiest figures in the history of mankind.

Organization and Rules
Unlike virtually every other sport, boxing has no central authority. The sport is loosely and unofficially run by corrupt licensing organizations such as the WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF, and equally corrupt promoters such as Don King and Bob Arum.
There are essentially only 3 rules in boxing:
1. Protect yourself at all times
2. Every decision must benefit the promoter and negatively affect everyone else involved
3. Keep all women, children, and ears away from Mike Tyson
