Overall Career
Ira Robert "Suitcase Bob" Seeds was born on February 24, 1907, in Ringgold, Texas. Seeds was 23 years old when he broke into the big leagues on April 19, 1930, with the Cleveland Indians. Seeds had a 9-year career as a shortstop. In 615 games he batted .277 with 28 HR and 233 RBI.
He was neicknamed "Suitcase Bob" for his travels from team to team. Seeds eventually bought a lass-D franchise in Texas, put his wife in charge, and went off to play in higher classifications.
